Rose Quartz: The Love Stone
Rose Quartz is the stone of the heart and a powerful symbol of universal love 🖤
Its soft pink hue and feminine energy is yin in nature, carrying an aura of peace, tenderness, and warmth. Relating to the heart chakra, it is a powerful crystal for anyone seeking to bring more love into their life. By opening and healing your heart center, Rose Quartz helps to deepen relationships by embracing kindness and compassion. When we find self love, inevitably our relationship with others and the world around us becomes more harmonious. When we can see the world around us as kind, filled with opportunity and abundance we begin to see it through rose colored glasses.
Heart + Throat Chakra
This powerful stone also connects to the throat chakra (Vishuddah chakra, the 5th). Its gentle energy asks us to speak from the heart. Communication is how we speak and listen to others as well as how we talk to and hear ourselves; are we treating ourselves with love and self-care? Can we slow down enough to untangle our mood from our mind and come home to the heart?
The heart chakra (Anahata, the 4th) governs one’s sense of love, trust, gratitude, peace, patience, transformation, and connectedness. It balances emotions and purifies negativity, but this can only be felt in the silence and stillness of this sacred spot. When unbalanced, we have a tendency to think negatively, dwelling on the past or possibilities of the future. As the heart chakra blossoms open we find ourselves optimistically embracing and living more fully in the present moment.
The Sanskrit word for this center is Anahata which means unstruck; the subtle heart (located in the center of the chest) unlike the emotional heart can not be broken. There are known to be subtle sounds heard in deep meditation on this central point; sounds that are reverberations or modifications of the original sound of creation often identified with the syllable om. The heart chakra symbol is two intersecting triangles in a six pointed star formation, representing union between heaven and earth and the integration of the upper and lower chakras. It is the ultimate symbol of balance and peace.
We use sacred geometry in our Rose Quartz Triangle Crystal Slider. When this charm is on our Classic Necklace, it can be worn with the point facing up for more angelic, uplifting energy, or down to ground, for more earthy energy. I love having this option, because my mood and needs vary from day to day and moment to moment.
Goddess Energy
Rose Quartz is connected with the feminine divine and attunes to goddess energy. It is popular to use during pregnancy as it has deep feminine protective and nurturing energy. As a stone of connection it can help create unbreakable bonds between mother and child. It carries the aura of compassion and the warmth of mothering- the ability to hold sacred goddess empowered space. The most powerful and creative energy begins at the heart; the same fierce strength that flows through during pregnancy and childbirth.
Origins + Mythology
Rose Quartz is a pale pink form of quartz, also known as Hyaline Quartz. It is widely available in nature, just like the love it represents. It comes in an abundance of shades and originates from just as many places around the globe. Showing up in Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Brazil, and the U.S.A., Rose Quartz was also popular in ancient times with the Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians. It is rich in mythology and was connected to the Greek goddess of love, lust and beauty, Aphrodite. It is said that Isis, the Egyptian goddess of life, motherhood and fertility used it for its restorative qualities to tone and heal her skin. This practice is common today in the use of Rose Quartz face rollers and Gua Sha to reduce puffiness and wrinkles.

Zodiac
This stone is linked to the Zodiac signs of Taurus and Libra. Taureans are ruled by the planet Venus, known for passion, love, hedonism, and beauty. When attuned with the energy of Rose Quartz, the stubborn and in-your-head nature of Taureans can be harmonized by creating spaciousness and ease. It works gently, which is needed for this sensitive sign. It is also a magical harmonizing stone for the Libra baby because it grounds them in the Truth of the heart. They can be indecisive and self absorbed, and this gemstone can open their vision to a wider perspective and understanding. Libras are also the sign of balance and Rose Quartz enhances and energizes that quality.
Mudra
Padma Mudra (Gesture of the Lotus): This mudra, or hand gesture, is used for balancing the fourth chakra. It is an energizing gesture that activates the air element, healing the cardiovascular, respiratory, and immune systems. It resembles the lotus flower, representing purity and perseverance. The lotus grows above the muddy waters of desire, fear and attachments and is a reminder of our inner divinity, beauty, and light.
Instructions: Place your hands in prayer position at the center of the heart. Open your fingers into the mudra and roll your shoulders down and back. Take several breaths to attune to the feelings and sensations awakened by this gesture. Breath in spaciousness and with the exhale let thoughts and emotions dissolve. Each breath becomes lighter, sweeter, and slower. Find joy in the simplicity of sitting, each breath is a blessing. Begin to open to a deeper knowing that all relationships and events serve a purpose for your higher benefit. Find spaciousness in knowing all beings are looking for love, in our own way. As compassion unfolds, breath in gratitude and send a heartfelt prayer for the happiness of all beings. Feel, breath by breath and moment by moment, unconditional love unfolding like the lotus from the mud. When you are ready, release the mudra, embrace your Rose Quartz, and sit for a few minutes in silence allowing the stone's loving qualities reveal itsself to you as the meditation integrates.
